my dad died from ALS when i was 3 years old. he was 36. my mom was 33. that was 30 years ago. now i’m the same age my mom was when my dad died. and there is still no cure for ALS.

There’s one line of this that confuses me.
How can the telling of one’s back-story, “change the way she is perceived”?
Frankly, my perception of Felicity Smoak is derived from what I’ve seen from her actions for the past two years. What about her past, do they thinkwill change anything?
I’m all about adding dimensions to characters. But Felicity’s overall characterization has already been clearly defined for me. It’ll be interesting to see them ‘challenge’ those traits ever so often, but I hope they don’t stray too far from who she is essentially.
